Learn About Us

At The Dog’s Bark Grooming & Boutique, we believe every dog deserves to feel safe, loved, and cared for. Our goal is to make grooming a positive experience by offering gentle, one-on-one care tailored to each pup’s needs.

Our Journey: A Passion for Pet Grooming

From childhood memories of watching grooming magic happen to earning a professional certification in dog grooming, The Dog’s Bark is the result of a lifelong love for dogs. After years of learning, training, and dreaming, Ryli created a warm, welcoming salon where every dog is treated with patience, compassion, and respect.

We’re dedicated to helping pups look their best while making sure they feel comfortable every step of the way.

Ryli Schmidt

Meet Ryli

Owner & Certified Groomer

Ryli’s love for dogs started at a young age, inspired by her childhood Miniature Schnauzer, Molly, and the joy she felt watching grooming professionals work their magic. After high school, she realized she wanted a career centered around animals and began her grooming journey. While working at The Paws Zone, she completed her professional grooming certification through Animal Behavior College and continued building her skills through hands-on experience.

Now the proud owner of The Dog’s Bark Grooming & Boutique, Ryli brings compassion, patience, and a gentle touch to every groom. Her focus on one-on-one care ensures that each dog feels safe, respected, and comfortable throughout their grooming experience. Ryli is passionate about helping dogs look their best while creating a positive and loving environment for every pup that walks through the door.

Keri Schmidt

Keri Jo Schmidt

Ryli’s Mother and Lifelong Dog Lover

Keri Jo helped spark Ryli’s early love of animals through their childhood pets, Molly and Star. When she’s not helping in the salon, she’s creating custom designs and apparel for The Dog’s Bark and the band Revel In Red. She’s the creative heart behind much of our boutique’s personality.

Dakoda Ackerman

Dakoda Ackerman

Grooming Assistant & Seasonal Worker

Dakoda is Ryli’s fiancé and a huge part of why The Dog’s Bark exists today. In the winter months, you’ll find him helping in the boutique or assisting with grooming in the back. He’s always ready to lend a hand—and he’s also responsible for a good portion of the pets at home!
